Grace Prather, a BGJHS 6th-grade cheerleader said the same thing, “I put a lot of time and effort into this pageant.

For Grace and Evelyn, their long-term goal was to win the best casual, front cover, or back cover. Cheer coach Bobbi Doston inspired Evelyn and Grace.

Emily Mercy, a 6th grader at BGJHS that is not a cheerleader, was inspired to compete in the pageant by her sister, who was also in the pageant. Emily’s long-term goal is to win the best casual or back cover.

Michelle Botkin, mother of Evelyn Botkin explains that it took way too much time, but it was fun planning. All the effort and time were worth it because it was fun and cool. Botkin’s long-term goal for her daughter is to win the front cover or back cover.

Oshekea Carothers is a staff member that helps with BGJHS and BGHS. “In this pageant, the kids do not speak, they answer questions before the pageant, so this pageant does not help them with communication skills but others do,¨ said Mrs. Carothers. I feel like the involvement was great, a lot of students participated and were very thankful for the Purple Door for sponsoring this so we can make a great prophet for the cheerleaders this year,¨ said Mrs. Carothers.
