January PRIDE leaders celebrate their nominations at the leadership luncheon.
February 24, 2020
At Bowling Green Junior High School the Leadership Luncheon is a way for teachers to recognize students who have constantly and consistently followed the PRIDE expectations. Each month the chosen students attend a luncheon in BGJHS library in which teachers honor them. The teachers choose their students based on what subject or content they teach. Each teacher must choose five students to honor, one for every PRIDE expectation: P= pride, R= respect, I= integrity D= dependable, E= effort. In total, about 60 students are recognized a month. At the luncheon, the teachers share with the guests and parents how and why their child was selected.
“We are proud of our student leaders and the example they show inside and outside the classroom,” said Mrs. Porter, BGJHS 6th Grade Assistant Principal.
A lot of planning was put behind the leadership luncheon and many of the staff were involved in making the luncheon possible. The people who organized the luncheon include Mr. Otto, who organizes with all the teachers and the process of selecting the students. Other organizers were Mrs. Porter and Mrs. Beasely, youth service center coordinator. They took care of setting up the tables, food, and the whole physical setting of the Leadership Luncheon.
